About us

The word in our name is the whole point.

There is no shortage of people who can build an impressive AI demo. There is a severe shortage of people who can build an AI system that runs unattended for two years, handles the weird inputs, fails safely, and that your operations team trusts enough to stop double-checking.

That second thing is a software engineering problem, not a prompting problem. It's what we do.

What we believe

Four opinions we hold quite strongly

You'll hear these in every conversation with us, so they may as well be on the website.

  • Boring beats clever

The best automation is the one nobody talks about because it's never broken. We optimise for uneventful, not impressive.

  • AI is a component, not a strategy

Most of what makes an automation valuable is integration, data quality and error handling. The model is often the easy part.

  • The people doing the work know the answer

Every good automation we've built came out of watching someone's actual Tuesday, not reading a process document written three years ago.

  • Dependency is a business model we refuse

You get the code, the keys, the docs and the training. We want you to stay because the work is good, not because leaving is painful.

The difference

Three kinds of firm you could hire — and where we sit

Honest positioning, because you're probably comparing us to these anyway.

The big consultancy

Excellent strategy decks. Enormous rate cards. The people who sold it are rarely the people who build it, and the roadmap often outlives the engagement.

  • Strong on governance
  • Slow, expensive delivery
  • Junior teams on the ground

The freelancer or no-code shop

Fast and cheap for a single workflow. Struggles when you need error handling, security review, real volume, or someone to still be around in eighteen months.

  • Great for simple automations
  • Fragile at scale
  • Limited engineering depth
How we operate

Small team, senior only, deliberately

We don't pyramid. The person in your discovery session is the person writing the code and the person you message when something looks odd.

Solution architects

Process mapping, ROI modelling and system design. They run the audit and own the outcome.

AI engineers

Agents, evaluation suites, retrieval, prompt and model optimisation, cost control at volume.

Software engineers

Integrations, backends, interfaces, infrastructure — the layer that makes it a system rather than a script.

Delivery lead

Your single point of contact. Weekly demos, written updates, and no chasing for status.

Our commitments

What you can hold us to

We'll tell you not to build it

If the audit says the payback doesn't work, you'll hear that — even though it costs us the project. It's the cheapest advice you'll ever get.

Fixed scope, fixed price

Agreed before work starts. If our estimate was wrong, that's our risk to carry, not a change order for you to sign.

You own the asset

Code in your repo, infrastructure in your cloud, keys in your vault, documentation written for your team.

Security is not an add-on

NDA and DPA before the audit. Least-privilege access, PII handling and audit logging designed in from the first diagram.

We measure the savings

Baseline before, metrics after. If we can't show the number moved, we haven't finished the job.

Straight answers

No jargon walls, no vendor pitch, no pretending a hard problem is easy to win the deal. You'll always know where things really stand.

The other half

Things we're not good at

Every agency page lists strengths. Here's the other half, so you can disqualify us early instead of six weeks in. If your project is mostly one of these, we'll say so on the first call and point you somewhere better.

this list has cost us work. keeping it anyway.

  • 01
Ultra-low-latency systemsTrading engines, real-time bidding, anything with a hard sub-50ms budget. Different discipline, different people.
  • 02
Rescuing a project two weeks from a hard deadlineWe'd be lying about what's achievable, and you'd end up with something fragile. Salvage jobs need a different kind of firm.
  • 03
Big-bang replacement of a core systemRipping out an ERP and hoping. We work alongside what you have and replace it in slices, or we're the wrong call.
  • 04
Being the cheapest quoteWe're rarely the lowest number on the table. If price is the deciding factor, a good freelancer will serve you better.
  • 05
Anything needing people physically on your siteWe're remote-first. If the work requires someone standing on a factory floor with a clipboard, that's not us.
  • 06
Convincing a team that doesn't want thisWe can build it. We can't win an internal political fight on your behalf, and we've stopped pretending otherwise.

The fastest way to judge us is to use us

The audit is free and the report is yours regardless. You'll learn more about whether we're the right fit in that one session than from any amount of website copy.
